Can't Have Music Without the Bling

Hello All,
I am excited about my blog so much that I am actually glowing.  It’s about gemology and music and I need to share a bit more of that, while I am learning about both.  Let’s start with music; at this point, you really don’t know where I stand concerning the entity.  I love all music, I may not be knowledgeable about all music but I love all music. Rap, Jazz, Country, Alternative, Rock, Opera and Classical, Metal, R&B, even Polka.  All kinds. I even like listening to music in other languages.  I may not know every word that is being said, but the feel and ambiance of the music speaks for itself.
My love for music is the reason why I have taken up a new interest in writing lyrics and eventually writing music.  I have bought some books that will hopefully help me in the lyrical writing of music, as well as some books that will aid in my Garage Band addiction of playing the guitar.  I got the idea while browsing the BMI website, that caters to songwriters, publishers, and composers.  My mom says that “everyone has talents that they are blessed with,” some dormant and others are seen everyday.  So I figured that maybe, I have a dormant talent for writing music, why not give it a try.  And while I’m at it I can join the many writers at BMI that work in the music and film industry.

Another love of mine—gemology is becoming stronger and stronger everyday.  I don’t’ know if it’s just that fact of knowing about specimens that have been forming in the earth for years or just to know that I will be handling something so beautiful that was crafted by nature. I have been looking for a jewelry brand that is modern and pretty young established.  I came upon Jacob & Co.  Don’t get me wrong I love Tiffany’s, Cartier, Bvlgari, Harry Winston and the rest that are old world; but I am looking for a younger model (along with the old world jewelers) in jewelry that I can take a few pointers from.  Whoever is in charge of the companies media, is a genius.  The Jacob & Co. collections, attract young celebs and is prevalent in Russia and France; what’s not sexy about those languages.  My goodness! The timepieces and jewelry are as sleek as their New York Boutique.  The colors of the boutique are a calming blue and white, with sophisticated casings for their collections, what’s not to love.

  1. I too have a wide range of music, not as wide as yours but pretty big. I enjoy the different elements of all types of music and I love that I love music from all different cultures. I feel like music is a tool that connect people even if we are not speaking the same language. The styles may be different but the love is universal. I feel the same way about jewels, styles may be different but all over the world people love their jewelry. By the way, let me thank you for introducing me to Jacob & Co., I officially have a love/hate relationship with you now I must own a piece and I know it will be super expensive. A few years ago, I met a singer named Sylver (http://www.sylverlogansharp.com) that created her own jewelry line. She actually hand makes her unique pieces herself. Her line is called Sylverwear (http://www.sylverwear.com/home.html) she has quite a few celebrities sporting her pieces. Now I know two people who must have the bling with their music.
